Inmidst the centre of Prague directly at the Wenceslas Square the National Museum immediately catches your eye. The most striking building in the surroundings displays impressive and elaborate architecture- influenced by the Czech Neo- Renaissance. It has spectacular gables, columns and reliefs and the inside is also held in this style.
However the museum doesn’t have to hide behind its amazing facade when it comes to regarding the content. Founded in 1818 it is the oldest museum in Bohemia and offers quantity as well as quality. In its stock it has nearly 14 million exhibits from the areas of natural science, history, art, music and librarianship, which are divided into historical, mineralogical, zoological and anthropological departments.
