The Karl May Museum which opened in 1928 and has since delighted more than 6,5 million visitors, has a very long tradition.
The importance of the Saxon Writer’s works remains undisputed- Karl May is still one of the most read and most popular writers in German speaking countries.
The villa Shatterhand gives you an insight into his life (1842-1912) and his works.
One can still feel the spirit of Old Shatterhand, Hadschi Halef, Omar and Kara Ben Nemsi and of course you won’t have to miss the silver tin, Bear Killer and the Henry carbine (all Old Shatterhand rifles in original).
The Wild West log cabin „Villa Bärenfett“, is dedicated to an ethnological exhibition, which shows the life and history of the Indian tribes of North America.
